Terrible Customer Service
Frustrated in MI

I bought this trim kit to go with the microwave, it did not fit. I emailed (they told me to call), called (wait was too long) and chatted with customer service to create a return. They told me to put the package on the porch and FedEx would come pick it up. I was a little nervous about that bc packages left on the porch during a holiday season tend to get stolen, but ok. I put the package out and after 4 days it was still sitting there. I called back and was told the call tag was never issued, the person who does that isn't in, they would call me Monday. Monday no call. Tuesday I call them back and the wait time is 10 mins, I am not waiting. I chat with an agent who again says the call tag hasn't been issued, they can't get a response from the local warehouse. I mentioned I am not leaving the package on the porch indefinitely, but they can't tell me when a call tag will be sent and they won't notify me. I asked them to email me a label so I can just take it to FedEx and send it back, but they can't do that either. So my 3 call and have literally gotten nowhere, no call tag, no indication of when a call tag will be issued and a refusal to contact me when a call tag does get issued. I should have just bought through Amazon, as opposed to direct through Whirlpool, and this process would have gone much easier. Not only is this box still sitting in my house, I have no idea when they are coming or when I will be getting my return. I recommend buying through a box store, or through Amazon, if you aren't sure the item will fit. The return cost, at this point, aren't worth the amount of time or effort I have had to put in to try and send this thing back.

For one thing, the trim kit is mostly made of plastic with a thin stainless steel layer. My biggest issue is that the stainless steel had a ton of waves in it. So ordered another one and it was exactly the same. I've never had this issue with other brand trim kits. Looks like the panel has dings in it when viewed at various angles.
